Job Summary:
As a CNC Machine Setup Technician at Soelect, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our CNC machines. You will be responsible for the setup, calibration, and maintenance of CNC equipment, ensuring that it performs at optimal levels. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will directly impact on our ability to meet production goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Perform machine setup and calibration to prepare CNC machines for production runs.
• Load CNC programs and set machine parameters based on job requirements.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and work holding devices.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues as needed.
• Conduct tool changes, tool offset adjustments, and tool wear inspections.
• Monitor machine performance during production runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize machining processes.
• Maintain accurate records of machine setup and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and production efficiency.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a CNC Machine Setup Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CNC programs.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and equipment.
• Familiarity with a variety of CNC controls and software.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy machine components when necessary.
Working Conditions:
The CNC Machine Operator may be required to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
