Soelect is honored to announce it has been selected to receive a $12,000 Incentive Grant Award under the One North Carolina Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) / Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Incentive Funds Program. This prestigious award recognizes the company’s efforts to drive cutting-edge research and development in the energy storage sector—particularly in lithium battery technology.
The One North Carolina SBIR/STTR Incentive Program is administered by the North Carolina Department of Commerce and is designed to support the growth of early-stage technology companies across the state. By providing matching funds to businesses that have already won competitive federal SBIR or STTR awards, the program helps accelerate the commercialization of promising innovations. The grant is part of a broader statewide initiative to boost North Carolina’s standing in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) industries.
For Soelect, this funding will support continued work toward developing safer, longer-lasting, and more efficient lithium metal batteries, a core component of the next generation of electric vehicles, portable electronics, and grid storage systems. The grant will help offset the high costs of advanced R&D, equipment, and prototyping—key areas in Soelect’s innovation pipeline.
As a growing leader in the battery materials industry, Soelect remains committed to developing scalable solutions that align with global sustainability goals and strengthen domestic supply chains.
